Custom Lightsaber Safety Tips for Summer: How to Enjoy Yours Safely
Summer is in full swing. We expect there will be more opportunities to bring your sabers to outdoor events and photo shoots. We've put together some important tips to help you protect your precious saber from summer-specific risks.
Using Your Saber Near Water and at Outdoor Events
Please refrain from using your saber near water, such as at the beach, by rivers, or poolside. Custom lightsabers are not waterproof or splashproof. If water, sweat, or rain enters the interior, there is a risk of the following:
- Lithium-ion battery overheating or igniting
- Soundboard (PCB) malfunction due to short circuit
- Malfunction of components such as LED units and speakers
Also, always use PSE-marked lithium-ion batteries for replacement batteries. Non-compliant products carry a higher risk of fire.

Avoid Leaving Your Saber in the Car for Extended Periods in Summer
The interior of a car in midsummer can exceed 80°C depending on conditions. Leaving your saber in this environment can lead to serious problems.
- Lithium-ion battery swelling, leakage, and degradation
- Melting of the grip or deformation of resin chassis parts
Storage and Display in Direct Sunlight
We also recommend avoiding storage or display in places where direct sunlight hits for extended periods, such as near windows. Continuous damage from UV light and heat can lead to the following deterioration:
- Hardening, cracking, or stickiness of rubber grips (accelerated deterioration due to UV light and heat)
- Yellowing of acrylic display stands
- Yellowing and embrittlement of ABS resin parts (e.g., blade plugs)
While malfunctions caused by the environments mentioned above may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty, we are committed to providing repair and maintenance services even after purchase. Please feel free to contact us if you notice any concerning symptoms.
