The capabilities of a custom lightsaber depend significantly on its built-in soundboard. Each board offers different audio expressiveness, features, and methods for changing settings.
We categorize the boards we carry into four classes. Please start by checking the overview in the table below.

Entry In-hilt LED (RGB-X / XRGB) Class

This is a non-Neopixel class that uses a high-intensity LED embedded in the hilt to illuminate the blade. It comes equipped with basic features such as color changing, blaster effects, and lock-up.

Because the blade is lightweight, it is recommended for performances like stage combat or dueling.

Standard XENO Class

This is a Neopixel-type class provided by NEXUS. It is characterized by reasonable pricing and a rich set of features, with the range of customization expanding alongside version updates.

In XENO3, more detailed customization is possible, such as individually enabling or disabling features and effects.

Advanced CFX (Crystal Focus X) Class

This is a Neopixel-type high-end board developed by the veteran board manufacturer, Plecter Labs.

The method for changing settings differs significantly from the Proffieboard. CFX uses a method of rewriting configuration files on the SD card, so rewriting (compiling) the board itself is unnecessary. You can adjust detailed settings and behavior for each font without preparing a development environment on your PC.

Color changing, effect changing, and BGM selection can also be performed using just the physical button controls.

Crystal Focus™ v10 (CFX) Operation Manual

High-end Proffieboard V3.9 Class

This is the current-generation board used in many of the Proffieboard models we currently carry.

Known as one of the most feature-rich boards for custom lightsabers, its greatest strength is its flexible customizability. It runs on the open-source ProffieOS, allowing for extensive support ranging from adding fonts to making detailed changes to behavior.

Changing settings requires rewriting the board itself using dedicated software (Arduino IDE).

Proffieboard Operation Manual

High-end Proffieboard V2.2 Class

This is the previous generation of the Proffieboard. It is installed in select models.

Operation methods and included features are almost identical to the V3.9, and the same manuals can be used. It also shares the requirement of using Arduino IDE for changing settings.

The main differences from V3.9 are the board's processing performance and memory capacity. This creates a difference in the number of sound fonts that can be installed and the overhead available for complex settings (lighting effects). There is almost no difference experienced during daily operation.
